About the Mind Games Summer Camp

Mind Games is a week-long intensive summer camp for teenagers who want more than just fun — they want to become formidable thinkers. In a world drowning in noise, bad arguments, and manipulative rhetoric, the ability to reason clearly is a superpower.

At Mind Games, students don't sit in rows and take notes. They play. They argue. They outwit each other with logic puzzles, construct airtight arguments, and learn to spot the sneaky rhetorical tricks that politicians, advertisers, and social media use every day.

Presented by The Logic Lab - this camp is where intellectual confidence is built, tested, and celebrated.

Who we are…

Gabi Soto

Hi everyone! I’m Gabrielle Soto, and I am thrilled to help young thinkers sharpen their minds this summer. I am currently a Senior at Utah State University, where I am pursuing a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy with a Minor in History. My academic work focuses heavily on logic, ethics, and intense critical analysis.

I love finding ways to make complex ideas accessible and exciting. I have a background in competitive Speech and Debate, where I ranked fifth nationally, and I currently compete in the Intercollegiate Ethics Bowl. These experiences have taught me how to build strong arguments and think quickly on my feet—skills I can't wait to share with our students!

Beyond the classroom, I am a fluent Spanish speaker with over 18 months of experience teaching and mentoring in diverse communities, including providing ESL instruction. Whether we are deconstructing a famous speech or learning the basics of deductive reasoning, my goal is to help every student communicate with clarity, integrity, and confidence.

When I’m not diving into philosophy texts, you can find me enjoying the outdoors in Logan, Utah, or experimenting with quick and easy recipes in the kitchen. I look forward to a summer of great discussions and "lightbulb" moments!

Maren Hilbig

Fueled by curiosity and a love for all things brainy, I earned my Bachelor of Science from Brigham Young University, diving deep into microbiology with a minor in chemistry—because understanding the invisible world just wasn’t enough without a little molecular flair. I took that passion straight into the classroom, teaching high school science with the kind of energy that makes cells, atoms, and lab experiments feel like epic adventures rather than textbook material.

But I didn’t stop there. As a founding force behind a charter school, I stepped into a leadership role overseeing curriculum, pedagogy, and teacher training—essentially shaping not just what students learn, but how they experience learning altogether. Along the way, I earned my master’s degree from Utah State University in Instructional Technology and Learning Science, with a focus on understanding how people learn. Whether I am reading books on how the brain learns, playing with my new granddaughter, or enjoying the Utah mountains, I love helping others learn to engage the brain.
